Ever since I was a little girl I have loved rocking horses. My mom had one when I was a child and I have always wanted one for my own children. The dream was always to own a Stevenson Brothers rocking horse but I never thought we would be able to do it.
Not long after my son was born in 2012, my husband and I visited the Stevenson Brothers workshop and picked out a rocking horse for him. We paid a deposit and have been paying off more each month since then with the aim to have a bespoke rocking horse for his 2nd birthday. I am delighted to say that day is almost here.It truly is a dream come true to be able to give such an incredible gift to our little boy and I know that Fergie the cowboy rocking horse will be enjoyed by all the children in our family: nieces, nephews and hopefully another child of our own too! Friends of mine have chosen cheaper rocking horses but all of them have been disposable items that have been thrown away, sold or donated once their children were walking but I know that our rocking horse will be a part of our family for generations to come and is an investment well worth making.
In this day of disposable fashion and toy fads, it’s wonderful that we have something truly special, bespoke and personal that will become an heirloom and last long after we’ve gone to be enjoyed by our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so on…
